FAQs

Here are a few questions we often get asked: -

CQC Registration Support

  • To register as a new provider, you'll need to submit a comprehensive application via the CQC Provider Portal. This includes business details, a Statement of Purpose (SOP), evidence of compliance with regulations, and information about your Nominated Individual and Registered Manager. You’ll also need robust policies and procedures in place, and a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) demonstrating how you’ll deliver safe, effective care.

At QCM2US, we help you prepare every element, ensuring your application is thorough, professional, and aligned with CQC expectations.

  • Yes, in most cases, you will need a Registered Manager in place when applying, unless you (as the provider) plan to take on the role yourself. The CQC considers this position crucial for ensuring quality and compliance and will assess the suitability of the individual as part of the registration process.

At QCM2US, we can support both prospective Registered Managers and Providers through the application and interview process.

  • Absolutely. We provide hands-on support throughout the registration process, including completing your online application, preparing key documents, and offering guidance ahead of interviews or assessments. We make sure everything is aligned with the CQC’s Single Assessment Framework (SAF).

  • Typically, CQC registration takes between 10–12 weeks, depending on the complexity of your service and how quickly required checks (like DBS and references) are completed. Timings can vary, but with QCM2US guiding your submission, we’ll help minimise delays and avoid common hurdles.

  • Mistakes can lead to delays, rejections, or requests for further information. But don’t worry, if you’ve already submitted an application and are unsure about next steps, we can help you review and amend it. If you're starting from scratch, we’ll ensure everything is accurate the first time.

Mock CQC Inspections & Care Quality Audits

  • Our mock inspections / compliance audits are structured to mirror a real CQC visit. We review your documentation, observe practice, interview staff, and assess your service against the five key questions; Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well-led. You'll receive a detailed report with practical, actionable feedback.

  • We’ll provide a readiness rating and highlight specific strengths, risks, and gaps. After your mock inspection, you’ll receive a clear improvement plan, giving you the confidence to move forwards knowing exactly what to address. We’ll then support you with a sustainability plan from a governance perspective.

  • Yes. We use the same four-point rating system as the CQC. Outstanding, Good, Requires Improvement, or Inadequate across each of the five key questions. This helps you understand how inspectors are likely to view your service and where improvements are needed if necessary.

  • Definitely. We don't just hand you a report and walk away. We’ll work with you post-inspection to implement improvements, update policies, deliver staff training, or prepare additional evidence, whatever you need to get inspection ready.
